You must have an original and valid driver’s licence, as well as an ID document or passport.

We will need the following personal details from you: full name, email address, residential address, Cape Town address (if not a Cape Town resident) and telephone number.

You will also need to supply a credit card at the point that the rental deposit is required.

You must hold a valid driver’s license and ID document/passport in order to rent a vehicle. We do accept valid driver’s license from other countries; however, an international driver’s license is preferred.

How long can I hire a car for?

You can hire a car for a minimum of 3 days, from time of pick up to time of drop off.

There is one exception to this – during the high season months of December and January rental bookings must exceed fourteen days and during this period special rates apply.

A day hire rental period may be extended past the original return date for a period agreed to by both parties.
Long-term car rental periods may cover any period agreed to by both parties.
In the event that the car hire period is extended without prior consent from Kirstenhof Car Hire we will consider this a breach of Terms and Conditions and your vehicle will no longer be covered.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

A deposit is held for insurance purposes in case of an accident or theft of the vehicle.

Deposits range from R2,500 to R5,000 depending on the type of car hired and the duration of the hiring period.

We accept cash deposits for contracts longer than fifteen days; however, there is a standard cash handling fee of R200 charged and all cash deposits must be paid up in full before the vehicle is released. You will still need to have a valid Credit/cheque card available.

All deposits are refunded on the good return of the vehicle.
